Those who belive in this nation are hindus : Mohan Bhagwat

Like his predecessors, he is very dynamic, energetic, full of sense of humour, spontaneous and good orator.

He is Mohan Bhagwat, supremo of RSS-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

On 6th September 5.30 pm, there was grand convention held by RSS at Trimandir, Adalaj, Gandhinagar district. The reason was Mohan Bhagwat’s Gujarat tour. More than 5,000 people including swayamsevaks (volunteers of RSS) dressed in RSS’s uniform-white shirt, khakhi short, brown belt and black cap, citizens, ladies came and took seat from early at 4.45 pm. Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and ex chief minister Keshubhai Patel, Gujarat BJP president Purushottam Rupala and members of cabinet were also present.

Was it in regard of recent dissidence in BJP?

Was this tour in regard of changes in Gujarat BJP leadership that are foreseen by political analyst?

‘No,’ he clearified in very beginning of his ‘Baudhik’ – the term used for address in RSS.

‘After becoming Sar Sangh Chalak (President sort of post), my tour across country was planned. So this Gujarat tour.’

He cleared many things- on the top was that RSS is not coming and will not come in politics. ‘If we decide to come in politics we can come into it, and there will be no need of any political party, we have that much strenth, but our mission is different, our work is different. All political parties are ours and we are for all political parties, ’ Mohanjee said, ‘We make individual better and through individual, we make nation better.’

He said, ‘many people see RSS from different persepctive. Seeing swayamseveks playing in Shakha (branche), some think this is akhada (sports organisation). Seeing and hearing band and song played by swayamsevak sangh some think it as sangeet shala (music school). Nobody understand Sangh. For this one has to join Sangh.’

There is lot of controversis and belief about RSS being Hindu organisation and it talking about Hindu rashtra (nation.) He made very clear this point. ‘Hindu is regional indicating word. It derived form Sindhu (indus) river. Those who believe in this nation, those who believe that their forefathers were hindus are Hindu, whatever praying method they use.’ His saying was very much clear that Sangh does not hold bar for Muslims and christians.

‘Hindu can not be fundamentalist or fanatic. He is very liberal. Hindu believe in diversity. Hindu believe that there are many forms of one God. We have Krishna, Guru Nanak, Mahaveer, Buddh and recently we have included Saibaba, Satya Narayan and Santoshi Maa,’ he said.

‘But being liberal should not become minus point for hindus. We will not tolerate attack on our culture, our selfbeing.’ He straightly said.

‘Sangh is number one non government organisation, but it is not enough. To make society better, to make nation better, come join us, work with us. If you don’t like us doors are open, there is no restriction- no rule for joining or leaving.’ He said.
